📖 Her Story

Nell is a gorgeous Jura Hound who has made incredible progress since arriving in our care.

When she first arrived, Nell was understandably unsure of the world around her and didn't want to leave her cage. We gave her the time and space she needed, allowing her to build confidence completely at her own pace, and what a difference that has made!

Nell is now choosing to go outside, has met and bonded with the other dogs, travelled happily in the car, visited the vets and is now enjoying going out for walks.

At around 1 year and 5 months old and weighing approximately 20kg, Nell is ready to continue this wonderful journey with a family of her own.

🐶 Personality & Temperament

Nell is a beautiful, gentle girl whose confidence is growing all the time.

One of the loveliest things about Nell is seeing her realise that new experiences can be enjoyable. She's been going for walks with her volunteers and some of the other dogs, and is doing brilliantly, walking all the way there and back with just a little encouragement along the way.

She's also becoming increasingly comfortable with people. Although she sees some of her carers more regularly than others, she was very happy for new volunteers to stroke and fuss her, another lovely sign that Nell is learning to trust people and feel safe around them.

Nell takes confidence from other dogs and has really benefited from having canine companions around her. For this reason, we feel a confident, friendly resident dog would be a wonderful benefit, helping her settle and find her feet more quickly.

She could potentially be an only dog for the right family, but she may simply need a little more time and patience to build her confidence without another dog to reassure her.

With patience, kindness and gentle encouragement, Nell is showing us more and more of her lovely personality every day.
