📖 His Story

Meet gorgeous Garf! 💙🐾

Garf is estimated to be around 2 years old, and he is one of those dogs whose happy, cheerful personality makes it almost impossible not to fall in love with him.

When Garf first arrived at the municipal pound, he was heartbreakingly thin and clearly in need of some proper care and TLC. But despite everything he had been through, his wonderful personality was there from the very beginning.

His tail was wagging, he was delighted to see people and he seemed determined to make the most of every bit of kindness that came his way.

Garf currently weighs around 13kg and is a lovely medium-sized Hound mix. He still has a little weight to gain as he continues to recover and thrive, but he's already come such a long way.

Now we would really love to see him leave pound life behind completely and discover just how good life can be with a family of his own. ❤️

🐶 Personality & Temperament

Garf is an incredibly happy, affectionate and people-loving boy with a real zest for life.

He seems to approach every day as though it's going to be the best day ever, and his tail rarely seems to stop wagging!

He absolutely loves people and is always happy to seek out the volunteers for affection, leaning in for cuddles and soaking up every little bit of attention he can get.

One of the loveliest things has been watching Garf discover all the simple things that every dog should get to enjoy. He has discovered toys and absolutely loves them, and seeing him play, explore and simply enjoy being a carefree young dog is wonderful. 🎾❤️

Garf is also fantastic with other dogs. He's friendly, sociable and loves making canine friends. He enjoys a good play session and happily spends time alongside the other dogs at the shelter.

He has also formed the sweetest friendship with his kennel mate, Simon. The pair enjoy their little play sessions together before curling up for a nap, and they make a very cute duo! 🐶❤️🐶

Garf could happily live with another friendly dog, particularly one who enjoys playing, but he doesn't need another dog in his forever home. He could be equally happy as an only dog with a family who can give him plenty of companionship and make him a real part of everyday life.

As a Hound-type boy, Garf will also enjoy getting out and exploring the world. Walks where he has plenty of opportunities to sniff, investigate and follow his nose will be a great way to keep both his body and his brain busy.

Other Dogs: Yes - Garf is very dog friendly and could happily live with another friendly dog, but he could also be the only dog in his home.

Cats: Garf hasn't yet been cat tested.

Children: Yes - can live with suitably aged, dog-savvy children.

Experience Needed: Garf doesn't need a particularly experienced home. Like any rescue dog arriving from Cyprus, he will need a family who understands that he may need a little time to adjust to home life and who can give him patience, consistency and plenty of love while he settles.
