📖 Her Story

Meet beautiful Joy, a lovely, gentle girl who is gradually discovering just how wonderful life can be when you're surrounded by kindness. 💕🐾

Joy originally came into our care as a stray, so unfortunately we don't know anything about her life before she arrived at the pound.

What we do know is that she's an incredibly sweet-natured girl who is making lovely progress as she becomes more comfortable with the people and world around her.

Joy has a sensitive side and likes to take a little time to get to know new people, but with patience and a gentle approach, she's beginning to show more of her personality.

And one thing we've already discovered is just how much she loves other dogs! ❤️

Their company seems to bring out the very best in Joy, and seeing her relax, play and enjoy herself with her canine friends has been absolutely lovely.

We would love to find her a family who will continue helping her confidence grow and give her the chance to enjoy everything that comes with having a home of her own.

🐶 Personality & Temperament

Joy is a gentle, sweet-natured girl with a lovely temperament.

She's naturally a little reserved with people she doesn't know, but she's friendly and is becoming increasingly comfortable around the volunteers as she gets to know them.

Joy isn't the sort of dog who immediately rushes over demanding attention. She prefers to take things at her own pace, and we think she'll really benefit from having a family who understands that trust and affection can develop gradually.

But when it comes to other dogs, we see a different side to her! 🥰

Joy absolutely loves canine company and seems to take a great deal of comfort and reassurance from having friendly dogs around her.

She's playful and affectionate with her doggy friends, and it's lovely to see her enjoying herself and showing that happy, sociable side of her personality.

She's been comfortable around the dogs she's met and previously shared her kennel with Theo before needing to be separated when she came into season.

Joy is also beginning to enjoy getting out for walks.

She's still learning about walking on the lead, but she's becoming more comfortable with each opportunity to explore. She's shown no reactivity towards other dogs and has coped with light traffic.

With a little more experience, positive encouragement and the reassurance of a familiar routine, we think Joy will continue making lovely progress.

🏡 Home Requirements

Other Dogs: Yes - Joy would benefit enormously from living with at least one friendly, confident resident dog. She takes comfort from canine company and enjoys playing with other dogs, so having a kind companion to help her settle and build confidence would be ideal.

Cats: No - Joy is not considered suitable to live with cats.

Children: Joy is best suited to a quieter home with sensible, dog-savvy children aged 10+, or an adult-only household. This is simply because she will feel more comfortable in a calm environment where she can settle without too much noise or activity.

Experience Needed: Joy needs an experienced, patient family who understand sensitive rescue dogs and are happy to let her settle at her own pace. She will benefit from a calm, predictable routine, gentle positive training and continued support with her confidence and lead walking.

💕 Could Joy Be Your Perfect Match?

Joy is a lovely little soul who we think has so much potential to blossom in the right home. 💕

She's gentle, sweet-natured and wonderful with other dogs, and it's been so rewarding to watch her become more comfortable and begin enjoying life.

We particularly love seeing the playful, affectionate side of her personality come out when she's with her canine friends.

It's a lovely reminder of just how much this beautiful girl has to offer.

Joy won't necessarily be the dog who arrives and immediately makes herself at home, but for someone who understands sensitive dogs, we think watching her settle, gain confidence and build that special bond with her family could be incredibly rewarding. ❤️

She doesn't need a busy household or endless excitement.

Just a peaceful home, a friendly canine companion, some lovely walks as her confidence grows and people who will give her all the time, patience and kindness she needs.

In return, we hope her family will get to enjoy seeing more and more of the happy, playful and loving girl we're already beginning to know.
